SMART Goal #12

This week I plan to get in contact with Nick Sengstaken, one of the leaders of the FIRST Robotics team, in order to begin collecting information for the club’s graphic.

Reflection

This week, I was able to successfully get in touch with Nick Sengstaken. Once Nick agreed to help me out, I made a Google document on Drive that had the main questions I thought would lead to the most useful information for my graphic, and I emailed it to him so that he can answer whenever is most convenient for him. My questions were as follows: How many people are on the robotics team? I know that everyone is divided into subgroups, like for coding the program, actually constructing the robot, etc. What are the names of each group and about how many people are in each one? How many competitions will you be competing in? Who are considered the leaders? Overall, or for each group. I also asked for anything else that might be important such as winning stats or awards, just in case there is something major that I completely forgot to ask him to include. He hasn’t been able to get all the information for me quite yet, but hopefully he will soon so that I can start working on the Robotics infographic. In the meantime, I hope to contact other club leaders to collect their information.

This year I will be exploring the power, purpose, and process of creating infographics. With eye-catching graphic design, infographics are an increasingly popular form for presenting information to the public in modern-day media.
