SMART GOAL #18

Over the next two weeks I plan to finish my NHS infographic, select, and complete a black and white version of my last infographic.

Reflection

Throughout the past two weeks, I was able to successfully complete the final colored version of my National Honor Society infographic, and I am really pleased with how it turned out. As for my next infographic, I decided to go with a joint Spanish and French poster. Because I wasn’t originally planning on making this one, it took me a little bit longer to get everything in order. Plus, I needed info about two groups instead of one, so that added even more time to the initial process of this particular graphic. Since there are two groups for this poster, I decided that I wouldn’t go into quite as much specific detail for the clubs. Therefore, I ended up selecting the three most popular events for each language club to feature in the graphic, as well as the member count per grade for the individual groups. I spent a few class periods figuring out which events to feature and a unique symbol for each of them. Once sketches of those were complete, I ended up deciding to jump right into the colored version of the infographic. This way, I won’t have to go back and make every single little icon colored. I can just plan the general color scheme ahead of time, and then apply it throughout the creation process.

This year I will be exploring the power, purpose, and process of creating infographics. With eye-catching graphic design, infographics are an increasingly popular form for presenting information to the public in modern-day media.
